Ray Dalio discusses tariffs, growing debt and other economic and political concerns
Billionair Investor who predicted the 2008 financial crisis, Ray Dalio, has warned in an interview with NBC News that he is "worried about something worse than a recession" if President Donald Trump does not properly handle tariffs and other economic policies (Lebowitz, 2025).
"I think that right now we are at a decision-making point and very close to a recession, And I'm worried about something worse than a recession if this isn't handled well", said Dalio.
He discussed the profound impact that tariffs, excessive debt, and rising power imbalances will have on domestic and monetary order.
